Components
Collagen:
Collagen is the main protein of connective tissue in animals and humans. It is the most abundant protein in mammals (about 25% of the total protein mass), representing about 6% of body weight in humans. There are many types of collagens in the human body: 75% of the skin is made of Type I collagen, which guarantees tone, elasticity and skin resistance, countering the appearance of wrinkles. Integration with Type I hydrolyzed marine collagen, obtained from fish skin, provides peptides and low molecular weight amino acids that are rapidly absorbed.
Ginkgo Biloba:
Ginkgo Biloba L. is a living fossil and is the only species still in existence of the Ginkgoaceae family. It doesn’t have a fruit; it has apricot-shaped structures which are seeds covered with a fleshy envelope. It’s a tree that dates back to 250 million years ago. It’s a native of China, and its name comes from the Chinese word “yin-kuo,” which means “silver apricot.” The species name, “Biloba,” comes from the Latin word “bis lobus,” which is a reference to the division of the two leaf lobes, which are fan-shaped. Ginkgo Biloba leaves help memory and cognitive function, the normal blood circulation and microcirculation.
Hyaluronic acid:
Hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of human connective tissues. Thanks to its ability to absorb and retain water, it physiologically slows down water evaporation process, restoring proper skin moisture; this action affects the mechanical properties of keratin which becomes more elastic and flexible, bringing visible relaxation and rejuvenation to face and body skin.
Caffeine
Caffeine is a natural alkaloid found in coffee, cocoa, tea, cola, guarana and mate plants and beverages obtained from them. Coffee and tea are the most consumed drinks which makes caffeine the most used toning and stimulating substance in the world. Caffeine acts as a stimulant not only when taken through food but also when applied to the skin locally: in such case, caffeine is absorbed through the scalp, stimulates blood flow, and favors hair bulb oxygenation. Well-oxygenated hair bulbs stay healthy and prevent aging and eventual hair loss.
Horse chestnut:
It promotes microcirculation function, bowel movement regularity and digestive system function.
Vitamin E:
Vitamin E, or Tocopherol, is a fat-soluble vitamin, that is soluble in fats and oils. It is made up by a group of compounds called tocopherols and tocotrienols. The name “tocopherol” is derived from the Greek word “tocos”, birth, and “pherein”, carry on. This name was given to highlight its essential role in reproduction. The main sources of Vitamin E are found in vegetable oils (peanut, soybean, corn, palm, sunflower, etc.) and wheat germ; Tocopherol can also be found in nuts, seeds, whole grain cereals and leafy green vegetables. Vitamin E helps to protect cells from oxidative stress.
