Components
Shea Butter:
Shea butter is an edible substance that is extracted from Shea seeds (Butyrospermum parkii). The tree belongs to the Saponataceae family and grows in the savannas, from West Africa to the Nile. The crux of Shea is boiled, roasted, ground and processed so that a semi-solid fatty substance is obtained, that is ivory-white or yellow coloured. Its smell is reminiscent of chocolate. Thanks to the presence of a high amount of unsaponifiable fraction and the fact that it is rich in karitene and phytosterols, Shea Butter is used as a natural ingredient in anti-wrinkle and anti-aging creams, because it has healing, emollient, firming, hydrating, restorative and protective properties.
Hyaluronic acid:
Hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of human connective tissues. Thanks to its ability to absorb and retain water, it physiologically slows down water evaporation process, restoring proper skin moisture; this action affects the mechanical properties of keratin which becomes more elastic and flexible, bringing visible relaxation and rejuvenation to face and body skin.
Collagen:
Collagen is the main protein of connective tissue in animals and humans. It is the most abundant protein in mammals (about 25% of the total protein mass), representing about 6% of body weight in humans. There are many types of collagens in the human body: 75% of the skin is made of Type I collagen, which guarantees tone, elasticity and skin resistance, countering the appearance of wrinkles. Integration with Type I hydrolyzed marine collagen, obtained from fish skin, provides peptides and low molecular weight amino acids that are rapidly absorbed.
Arginine:
Arginine is a basic polar amino acid. It was isolated for the first time in 1886 from a lupine bud extract by a chemist named Ernst Schultze. Its name comes from the Latin word “argentum” because it was isolated for the first time with silver salt. Arginine is found in almost all proteins and in free form in many plants, such as buckwheat, cucurbits and coniferous trees. Arginine is involved in many metabolic processes, such as improving blood circulation and strengthening the immune system.
Vitamin C:
Vitamin C, or L-ascorbic acid, is a natural organic compound with antioxidant properties. It is solid white, but when it is damp or oxidized by the air, it can appear yellowish. It’s an antioxidant, water soluble vitamin, essential to humans, but not to all mammals, and performs multiple functions in the body. The etymology of its name ‘Ascorbic Acid’ refers to the fact that foods containing it help to prevent the onset of scurvy, a disease linked to the lack of Vitamin C in the diet. Vitamin C plays an important role as an antioxidant, contributes to normal energy levels, thus reduces tiredness and fatigue, contributes to normal immune system function maintenance, allows for correct collagen synthesis, and ensures healthy mucous membrane, gum and epidermis.
Damascus Rose:
The Damascus Rose is an ancient variety that has been reproduced for hundreds of years due to its special characteristic of retaining a high concentration of essential oil in the bud. A truly precious rose if we consider that about 3 and a half tons of flowers are needed to make 1 kg of rose essence. Promotes natural skin regeneration and has soothing properties.
