Components
Troxerutin:
Troxerutin is a flavonoid also known as Vitamin P4. It is found in tea, coffee, cereals and many fruits and vegetables. It is also extracted from Sophora japonica flowers, which are especially rich in this component.
Rutin:
Rutin is sometimes also called Vitamin P, although it is not an essential compound for humans. Rutin is also known as rutoside. It’s a glycoside flavonoid that consists of rhamnose, glucose and quercetin. It can be found in plants of the genus Citrus, in buckwheat, red wine, peppermint, eucalyptus, in the leaves and petals of the genus Rheum and in other vegetables. It’s used for its ability to reduce capillary fragility.
Aescin:
Aescin is a mixture of saponins extracted from Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) and then purified in order to be appropriate for oral use. Horse chestnut extracts and Aescin can help relieve swelling, heaviness, tiredness or itching in the legs. Aescin is Horse Chestnut’s characterizing principle because of its various properties.
Centella:
Centella, also known as Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica L.) is a medicinal plant that belongs to the Apiaceae or the Umbelliferae family. Although it’s originally from Asia, in today’s world it’s particularly widespread in India, Australia and in Africa, especially in wetlands and marshes or near rivers and streams. Its aerial parts were traditionally used in Indian medicine; they are still used in phytotherapy because they reduce cellulite, contribute to microcirculation function (for heavy legs) and support memory and cognitive function.
Blueberry:
Blueberry (Vaccinium Myrtillus) is a plant that belongs to the Ericaceae family. It’s a small shrub that grows to about half a meter high. Its flowers are pendulous and usually solitary, gathered in clusters, with petals welded together in a shape that is common to all Ericacee. Its fruits look like berries. It grows in the woods and moors of foothills and mountains. It’s commonly found in the Alps, but it’s also found in the Abruzzo Apennines. In Nordic tradition, Bilberry was considered good luck (or rather, away from bad luck). Vaccinium is its scientific name which comes from the Latin word “baccinium” and refers to the berries produced by this shrub. In Roman times, it was used to dye the slaves’ tunics red. Bilberry enhances microcirculation function, therefore, it helps to relieve the feeling of heavy legs. It’s an antioxidant and is great for vision health.
Ginkgo Biloba:
Ginkgo Biloba L. is a living fossil and is the only species still in existence of the Ginkgoaceae family. It doesn’t have a fruit; it has apricot-shaped structures which are seeds covered with a fleshy envelope. It’s a tree that dates back to 250 million years ago. It’s a native of China, and its name comes from the Chinese word “yin-kuo,” which means “silver apricot.” The species name, “Biloba,” comes from the Latin word “bis lobus,” which is a reference to the division of the two leaf lobes, which are fan-shaped. Ginkgo Biloba leaves help memory and cognitive function, the normal blood circulation and microcirculation.
Horse chestnut:
It promotes microcirculation function, bowel movement regularity and digestive system function.
Pineapple:
Pineapple is a plant that belongs to the Bromeliaceae family. It was present in the American tropics when Columbus landed in Guadeloupe in 1493. Its name comes from the word “anana”, which in the native language means “delicious fruit”. It later began to be cultivated in Europe and is today one of the most popular tropical fruits in the world. The fruit is used in herbal medicine because of its many properties: it supports digestive function, improves the body’s ability to get rid of excess body liquids, which makes it also helpful for those who suffer from heavy legs. Additionally, it promotes microcirculation and fights cellulite.
Arnica:
Arnica (Arnica montana L.) is a perennial medicinal herb that belongs to the Asteraceae family. It has erect robust stems that grow to be 20 to 60 cm high with large yellowish orangish flowers with “unkempt” looking petals and a pleasant aromatic scent. In France it’s very common and the French call it “Tabac des Vosges”, because some people who live in the mountains use it as snuff.
It’s traditionally used as an exceptional herbal remedy for trauma, edema, and for bangs and bruises, because it stimulates circulation, allows for the reabsorption of hematoma and gets rid of waste more quickly.
Aloe Vera:
Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller) is a succulent plant that belongs to the Aleaceae family and is characterized by its fleshy leaves with serrated edges. A predominantly red flower with long stems grows in a tubular shape in the middle of the plant. The leaves of the plant have been used since ancient times for their multiple properties. When ingested, it helps digestion and liver function. The “sine cute” gelum inside the leaf has an emollient and soothing effect on the digestive system, additionally, it detoxifies the body. The most significant components are the polysaccharides, polymers that protect the digestive tract. When Aloe Vera gel is used locally, it has a rejuvenating, firming, moisturizing and antioxidant effect on the tissues. It’s particularly helpful when it comes to inflammation, dermatitis, bruises and minor burns because it’s very soothing. In fact, not only does it accelerate the healing process, but it also calms burns, insect bites and sunburns.
Menthol:
Menthol is a chiral alcohol. At room temperature it’s solid, white, with a particular scent. It is extracted from the essential oil of peppermint and is used as an ingredient in perfumes, medicines, cosmetics and other products for its aroma and ability to refresh. It was discovered more than two thousand years ago in Japan. While peppermint was already used in ancient times by the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans as a medicinal herb, in the West it was not isolated until 1771. It stimulates blood circulation in the scalp, so that hair follicles oxygenate and stay healthy, it prevents aging and eventual hair loss and allows hair to grow and look beautiful and healthy.
